Class Announcements Literacy UpdateThis week, we will be reading a realistic story about a girl named Alex whose father doesn't get home in time for her birthday. This makes Alex angry, but after a night filled with strange dreams, she awakens to find that her father has returned. As we review this story, we will be making judgements and analyzing the way the characters act.
Our phonics focus will be on homophone words and the prefix - un. Fun Fact Did you know that every zebra has its own pattern of black and white stripes? This means that one zebra may have more black and white stripes than another zebra, or its stripes might be fatter or thinner. Don't forget to encourage your child to read 20-30 minutes every night! Cultural DayThe staff and students of Lewis-Palmer Elementary are very excited to welcome you to share in our second annual Celebrations of Home– a Celebration of World Cultures on Friday, April 16h. The mission of our celebration is to increase student awareness of world cultures by providing meaningful experiences involving our community members. This year’s celebration will focus on the word HOME: The games we play, the foods we eat, and how we live around the world. This may include, but not limited to architectural structure, traditional food & games, and family life.
